Available at ASDI
New Social Anxiety Therapy Group forming
now:
Transform your relationship with
anxiety.
Overcome fear.
Build confidence.
Stop struggling.
Make friends.
Lead a happier, more productive life.
Social anxiety is the fear and worry of being judged and evaluated
by others that prevents people from being able to do the things
they want to do. People with social anxiety want to be friendly,
open and sociable, but their fear holds them back. Fortunately,
social anxiety is a fully treatable anxiety disorder that can be
overcome with work, practice and persistence. Using a form of
therapy called ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), we will
focus on developing skills and techniques designed to help you
conquer your fear of social situations. In developing these skills,
people are able to start facing their anxiety directly while
beginning to lead more fulfilling lives.
Details: Participants must also be in ongoing individual
therapy at ASDI or elsewhere. Weekly meetings led by our
interns, Heather Major, M.S. & Elise Rittler, B.A., Wednesdays
6:30-8:00 pm, Cost is $25 per session.
